Modesty & Chastity

Teaching about modesty and chastity is critical, especially in this day and age.  Below are a variety of resources for teaching about modesty and chastity.

HOW ABOUT THIS FOR A CREATIVE WAY TO TEACH MODESTY

A clothing company that specializes in modest clothing holds an annual modest prom dress contest, where young ladies have the opportunity to design their own modest prom dress.

The company is called Modest By Design.  They have a very nice selection of fashionable and yet modest clothes at very reasonable prices.  Their website is:

Talking to our teens about sexuality can be frightening, and at times may seem fruitless. But don’t underestimate your impact: You are the most important influence in your teens’ decision making. Talk to Kids about Sex, Love, and Character

As parents and educators, we worry about many areas of our children's decision-making — sex, drugs, drinking, drinking and driving — where the wrong choices can carry a high cost. RESOURCES FOR EDUCATING IN CHASTITY:

Family Honor Inc. - Rooted in Blessed John Paul II's Theology of the Body, Family Honor seeks to empower parents to educate and guide their children according to God's plan. Family Honor offers a variety of programs and resources for parents, as well as programs for parents and teens together.

Catholic Answers has created the
Pure Love Club, a wonderful resource for those who are striving to learn and live the message of sexual purity taught by the Church.

Real Love Inc. is another wonderful resource for articles and information for teaching chastity.

Life Teen is a great website with a lot of "teen-friendly" information about a variety of topics, including chastity.

Pure Fashion is an international faith based program designed for girls 14-18 to help young women re-discover and re-affirm their innate value and authentic femininity.  Our goal is to emphasize a young woman's inherent dignity and therefore create in her a desire to dress and act in accordance with that dignity.

The Family Life Center has several good resources for teaching about sexuality and chastity.

Catholic Parents Online is a great resource for handling various issues related to sexuality, including pornography and abuse.

I've put together what I believe is a very helpful little brochure about chastity, which is attached below.
