Each year at St. Mary School, students in grades 4-8 participate in the Catholic Fair. The intent of the Catholic Fair is to teach the larger community, and the community of the school itself, about the Catholic faith and Catholic practices.
Each student chooses a topic from a list provided by the teacher. The student does some basic research on the topic and puts together a display to “teach” what they have learned from their research. The displays are posted in the school during Catholic Schools Week.
The general topics covered this year will include:
4th – Commandments and Beatitudes
5th – The Mass
6th – Saints
7th – Christ, Mary and the Apostles
8th – Apologetics (explaining misunderstood beliefs and practices)
This year marks the 5th Year of the Catholic Fair! It has always been well received and enjoyed by all - even the students!
